OUR STORY

In a world where many struggle daily just to meet their basic needs and provide for their families, we couldn’t stand by and watch the cycle of poverty continue. The challenges are vast, and often the struggle for essentials feels insurmountable. We asked ourselves a crucial question: How can we address this pressing issue and make a meaningful difference?

We believe in finding solutions rather than placing blame or accepting the status quo. Our goal is to simplify the complexities of poverty and work towards tangible improvements, without relying on fate or destiny. We are driven by the conviction that there is always a way to create positive change.

That’s why we founded the Seeta Ram Environmentals trust.

Through our commitment to the five essential pillars— Environment, Education, Employment, Empowerment, and Entertainment—we aim to uplift individuals and communities, breaking the barriers that hinder progress. By focusing on these areas, we seek to provide practical support, foster sustainable development, and inspire hope where it’s needed most.

Together, we can transform lives and build a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Join us in our mission to make a real and lasting impact.

My name is Deepa V l Nair and I am the founder of the Seeta Ram Environmentals trust and the lead on our current project. While my title may suggest a specific role, I wear many hats in our efforts to drive meaningful change through the trust.

PAST WORK – EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH HANDMADE JUTE BAGS: THE Seeta Ram Environmentals trust INITIATIVE

In the heart of rural Rajasthan, where tradition meets opportunity, the Seeta Ram Environmentals trust is spearheading a transformative project to uplift and empower women. Our initiative focuses on providing elderly women with the skills and resources to create beautiful, handmade jute bags.

These bags are not just products; they are symbols of independence, empowerment, and sustainable living.

Our Mission

At the Seeta Ram Environmentals trust, our mission is to empower women in rural Rajasthan by harnessing their skills and creativity. By teaching elderly women how to craft jute bags, we aim to:

Promote Economic Independence: Providing a source of income through the sale of handcrafted jute bags helps women achieve financial stability and self-sufficiency.

Encourage Skill Development: Through workshops and ongoing support, we equip women with valuable skills that open doors to new opportunities.

Foster Community Engagement: This project encourages women to collaborate, share knowledge, and build a supportive community network.

Promote Sustainable Practices: Jute is a natural, eco- friendly material. By creating jute bags, we contribute to environmental sustainability and reduce plastic waste.

How It Works

  1. Training and Support: We conduct workshops where elderly women learn the art of crafting jute bags. These sessions cover techniques, design ideas, and practical skills to ensure high-quality products.
  2. Resource Provision: We provide all necessary materials, including jute, threads, and tools, so women can focus on their craft without financial burdens.
  3. Production and Quality Control: Women create the jute bags at their own pace in the comfort of their homes. Our team ensures that each bag meets our quality standards before it goes to market.
  4. Sales and Distribution: Once completed, the jute bags are sold within Rajasthan, promoting local craftsmanship and ensuring that the proceeds go directly to the artisans.

The Impact

Our project is designed to make a significant impact on the lives of the women involved:

Financial Empowerment: By earning from their handmade products, women gain economic independence and contribute to their families’ well-being.

Self-Esteem and Confidence: Learning a new skill and seeing their work appreciated boosts their self-esteem and confidence.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

In many regions around the world, significant challenges persist that hinder sustainable development and equitable progress. These challenges are multifaceted, affecting educational opportunities, environmental health, gender equality, community empowerment, and civic engagement.

Educational Disparities

Despite global advances, educational disparities remain a critical issue. In numerous underserved communities, children and adults alike lack access to quality education, essential learning materials, and infrastructure. This educational gap perpetuates cycles of poverty and limits future opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Environmental Degradation

Environmental degradation poses a serious threat to ecosystems and human health. Issues such as deforestation, pollution, and climate change negatively impact both local communities and the global environment. The lack of effective waste management and sustainable practices exacerbates these problems, leading to long-term adverse effects on natural resources and biodiversity.

Gender Inequality

Gender inequality continues to be a pervasive issue in many societies. Women and marginalized groups frequently face systemic barriers to education, economic opportunities, and personal safety. Gender-based violence, unequal pay, and limited representation in decision-making processes hinder the full realization of human rights and social justice.

Community Empowerment Deficits

Many communities lack the resources and support necessary to achieve self-sufficiency and sustainable development. Limited access to vocational training, entrepreneurship support, and basic services stifles economic growth and prevents individuals from realizing their potential. This lack of empowerment contributes to persistent socio-economic challenges.

Limited Civic Engagement

Active civic engagement is essential for vibrant and responsive communities. However, many individuals are disengaged or lack the resources to participate effectively in community development and governance. This disengagement undermines democratic processes and inhibits collective problem-solving and innovation.

Our Vision –

“The Seeta Ram Environmentals trust seeks to address these critical issues by implementing targeted interventions and creating sustainable solutions. By focusing on education, environment, gender equality, empowerment, and engagement, we aim to tackle these challenges holistically and foster positive, transformative change in the communities we serve.”

Abolition of Beggary – We have to make India free from beggary

At Sita Ram Environmental Trust, we believe that bringing India above the poverty line is very important. It is beyond the boundaries of the world. Our project is designed to free India from beggary and connect the experiences of the poor with real-world applications.

Bhikhsa-Varati Khatam :- Sabhi ko Shiksha, Khana , Rojgar, Saman Adhikar, Jan–Jagruti Lana

(Sitaram Environment Trust’s campaign to end beggary and provide education, employment and food to all)

Compulsory education will be given to all children between 4 to 25 years within the year 02/02/2023. People ranging from 1 day to 80 years will be given food three times a day and will be given employment.

Sitaram Environmentals Trust has launched District Beggary Ending-Employment-Food Program in 2023 as a campaign to end beggary and provide employment-food to all. Ending the District Beggary-Employment-Food Program 2023. To eliminate beggary and provide basic food in backward districts. In this, we will provide food to the people three times a day and will make every possible effort to provide them new employment by enrolling their children in school and paying their fees. We want to give them a new path by providing them food, clothes and books. With three meals a day available, we don’t feel they need to beg. If we provide them employment. That’s why we don’t think they need to beg. We will make every possible effort to bring all other organizations along with us to achieve this objective and request the general public not to give them any kind of money. So that they cannot hide their abilities and cannot become a hindrance in the progress of the country.

If you stop giving them alms. So, these people can start some new work and live their life with respect in the society. With your initiative we can solve many problems like child kidnapping. As long as you guys keep helping them with money. Till then, people with criminal tendencies (kidnappers) will continue to kidnap these innocent boys and girls, mutilate their body parts and make them helpless and make them beg.

Therefore, we will be able to provide them relief from this problem by providing them food, employment, education and many other types of assistance. It aims to strengthen infrastructure, enhance quality and provide support for teacher training.

1. Example: As long as you keep giving alms. Till then, kidnapping organizations will continue to run their business by kidnapping these innocent children. To end the District Bhiksha Vrati and Employment Program keeping in mind their primary needs like food, education and employment. Will try to solve all these problems. And will select specific districts for improvement. For example, a district with low literacy rates and inadequate infrastructure may receive additional resources, job-training programs for teachers, and initiatives to increase student enrollment.

We provide facilities like accommodation, food, clothes and toys etc., so we need support from all of you. The clothes and toys you donate can bring smiles to the faces of our children. Please help as much as possible.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES – 5

There is no doubt that Child healthcare is important. Good child health ensures healthy physical development, preventing diseases and promoting growth. It also supports cognitive and emotional development, impacting lifelong well-being. Early detection and treatment of health issues prevent long-term complications.

Investing in child healthcare insures a productive society by reducing absenteeism in schools and later in the workforce. Additionally, it promotes equity, as access to healthcare can mitigate socioeconomic disparities. Ultimately, prioritizing child healthcare yields healthier, happier individuals and strengthens communities for a sustainable future.

What We Do?

To make healthcare reachable and affordable to everyone we regularly manages campaigns having various healthcare facilities free of cost. At our Trust, we have healthcare providers who travel from village to village in order to offer health check-ups as well as basic treatment. We access services as well as education that are linked to health problems.

Healthy Kids have Bright Future!

Recognized for the lack of access to healthcare and education in rural India, SEETA RAM ENVIORNMENTALS TRUST has addressed this gap by launching community health programs. These initiatives aim to educate rural communities about preventive and proactive healthcare measures. This focus on improving health awareness empowers rural populations to take charge of their well-being. Through regular health camps, free consultations with doctors, and distribution of essential medications, the program is making a significant difference. Many who previously lacked access to basic healthcare services are now receiving the care they need.

Medicine Distribution Free Medicine Distribution

Medical Camp Free Medical Camp

How can you help?

Our main motive is to help poor people attain and maintain a state of optimum health so that they can live their daily lives easily.

Before offering the healthcare services, we first try to understand the needs of a patient and then accordingly provide services like home health care, transportation for doctor visits, medical equipment rentals, etc.

There are two major reasons for the bad health conditions of people in rural areas. First is the lack of education due to which they are not completely aware, second is the reluctance to lose daily wage to reach the medical facility nearby.

It is true that healthcare for the deprived which is unaddressed has now become a desperate need. It is extremely important to offer healthcare services to all living in rural areas.

Be it male, female, or children, we offer healthcare services for all in order to ensure they are able to cope up with health issues easily. So, come forward and contribute to the people who really need the right healthcare services.

What is the best age to start daycare?

There’s no single “best” age. After 1 year old is common, but consider your child’s temperament and the daycare’s quality. Focus on a smooth transition and their individual needs.

Which NGO is good for children?

Many great NGOs fight for children’s well-being in India. SEETA RAM ENVIORNMENTALS TRUST , empowering rural communities through health education! Needs vary, but all focus on education, healthcare, or safety.

What is child care in India?

Child care in India ranges from traditional family care to formal options like daycares. Government programs like Anganwadis offer pre-school care and meals in rural areas. Urban areas see a rise in private daycare centers.

How much does daycare cost per month in India?

Daycare costs in India vary greatly by city, type of care, and services offered. Expect a range of ₹5,000 to ₹15,000+ per month, with higher costs in major cities and for full-time care with meals.

Project Overview

Many methods can be adopted to end the habit of “Bhikshavrati” i.e. begging. These are some initiatives that can prove helpful in ending this practice:

The Experience

Through our educational travel project, we provide people with the opportunity to learn and fight their problems. Our upcoming trip to India is a prime example of how we can make India free from beggary based on our perspective and knowledge through practical experience.

Key details of Make India Bhikshavrati Mukt: Target group: To inspire 25 lakh Bhikshus to lead a new life and bring a change in their lives

Cost: Rs 43800 per Bhikshu per year

Includes: All transport, accommodation, food and tour activities

Learning Outcomes

Bharat Bhikshavriti Khatam aims to provide people with a deeper understanding of indigenous things and cultural heritage by immersing themselves in this rich cultural experience:

Gain practical knowledge: Bhikshavriti Khatam is meant to inculcate new positive thinking in people by observing and experiencing first-hand what they see and experience, thereby increasing their understanding and retention.

Broader perspective: Exposure to diverse environments and cultures encourages people to think broader and approach problems from a more informed perspective.

Increase engagement: Connecting to real-world scenarios makes learning more engaging and relevant, thereby improving overall academic performance.

Why It Matters

Research shows that many beggars who make their living by begging also get involved in some criminal activities to improve their lives, to connect with different experiences, to perform better in studies. For this, they carry out any criminal activity in the society. How can we avoid helping such people in India, even if it is knowingly or unknowingly.

The Educational Journeys project aims to:

Education and awareness: It is important to educate people and make them aware of social issues. Raise awareness about the potential problems and disadvantages of begging.

Employment opportunities: The most important thing to eliminate beggary is to provide employment opportunities to individuals. Sita Ram Environmental Trust can help in this.

Assistance and social security schemes: To end this practice, there should be schemes to support people, such as financial aid, education and health facilities.

Resolving problems: Investigating and resolving the real causes of begging, such as mental health, financial problems or adverse family conditions.

Awareness campaign: Seeta Ram Environmentals Trust has launched an awareness campaign to encourage people to adopt the practice of seeking help or support instead of begging.

Join Us

We invite you to contribute at least Rs 10 every month to support the project to make India free from begging and help such poor people restart their lives.

Your support will help make this enriching experience possible and ensure that the beggars gain invaluable knowledge and skills that will benefit them for years to come.

For more information or to join, please contact us at +91 9521314999 or visit www.smes.org.in

Let us together bridge the gap between learning and real-world experiences to make India free from begging and create a brighter future for our fellow beings!

  • Soft Skills

There are three main categories of skill development:

  1. Cognitive Skills: These involve mental abilities like critical thinking, problem-solving, and learning.

  3. Interpersonal Skills: These encompass communication, teamwork, leadership, and the ability to build relationships.

What is national skill development scheme?

In India, the national skill development scheme isn’t a single program, but rather a coordinated effort led by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
